Poker Run and Lunar Run

Saturday, February 23rd

Saturday, February 23rd was a fun-filled day at Terry Peak with the BHSC Poker Run and the mountain hosting the Lunar Run that evening.

Our Poker Run Event Captain Rochelle led us across the Hill in pursuit of the "desired" hand. The staff probably never saw so many big kids on the Magic Carpet! The objective of a Poker Run is to obtain the best or worst hand and win cash which Kathy Stiefvater and Steve Jones just happened to do! Congratultions to the big winners!

After the Poker Run, a good number of us enjoyed music, munchies, and beverages at the Dark Horse Saloon while waiting to register for the Lunar Run. The whole lodge wished Rob Corner a happy birthday with a rousing rendition and toast.

This year's Lunar Run provided some added excitement! How do you make skiing  in the dark more fun? Give 100+ folks who have been sitting in the bar for hours flaming torches and send them down the hill in the dark. Actually, it worked quite well and except for a couple of spark holes in polarfleece no injuries were reported. While the moon never made it up before the festivities, we were able to snag a couple of runs before they called it a day!

Thanks to all who participated!
