The annual scavenger hunt was held March 9 at Terry Peak.  Twelve "rescuers" participated in the Terry Peak Adventures of the Amazing Race for the Lost Survivors of the Sisterhood and Brotherhood of the Traveling Underpants.  Four pairs of underwear were lost in the blinding snow and couldn't find their way out alone.  Five teams were drawn by choosing a latex surgical glove with an egg inside.  Each glove had a team name - the bunnies, the elephants, the piggies, the roosters, and the doggies.  Participants had to tie the surgical gloves to themselves and wear them during the hunt. 

The first challenge to kick off the hunt was the shot-ski race where the teams each stuck a plastic wine glass to their ski or board with sticky stuff.  Each team then filled the wine glass with water and raced down a section of Hobo Queen.  Of course some glasses didn't stick and the participant was allowed to carry it.  The winners of the shot-ski race (Stacy and Joel) were given their first clue and allowed to go first. 

Each team had six clues to find. The clues were pictures of locations around Terry Peak.  Once a team found all their clues they had to put their pictures together like a puzzle and flip it over and solve the clue on the back.  The clue on the back was a word maze that spelled out where the underwear was hiding.  The team who found all the clues and solved the final clue consisted of Mike and Lance. Great job, guys! One team spotted the underwear before they found all the clues (Stacie, Vicki, and Nate L. and they also deserve credit for continuing to search for all their clues even after they'd found the Lost Underpants.

Points were awarded to anyone who wore their underwear on the outside of their clothing (Lance wore his but he seemed to have lost them, so I guess there is still a lost pair of underpants on the mountain!).  Points were also given to those who solved the Daylight Saving Time questions, won the shot-ski race, and BROKE the eggs in their gloves.

All participants and attendees drew Dollar Store prizes, $20 went to the team with the most points (Stacy S. and Joel), $20 to the team who found the underpants (Stacie M., Vicki, and Nate L.), and $5 to the team that solved all the clues (Mike and Lance).  Two teams struggled a little with the clues.  Bob and Danny found most of them but Bob had to drop out before the end. Steve and John spent a lot of time unable to find their first clue – consequently Steve and John were the Biggest Losers and were awarded $5 for their efforts.

Everyone went to Lewie's for food and beverages after the slopes closed.  Thanks to all who participated!!!
