Fall Hike

Sunday - October 18th

30 folks and 11 furry friends met to enjoy a backcountry stroll in Custer State Park. Temperatures were in the upper 70's while the Emerson's led members and friends to Round Park - a checkpoint that was in the original course design for Primal Quest Badlands. This mostly off-trail hike included a couple of ridge climbs, had about 2500 vertical feet gain and loss, and totalled about 5 miles. Vistas included the Needles and Harney Peak to the north, the Badlands to the east, and the heart of CSP to the south and west.

Multiple pyramids were built during the summit break - including our first women's only version. Thanks to all for making the day memorable. I hope your digits aren't too bad with all the bushwhacking...

Apres hike was held at Lintz Brothers Pizza in Hermosa. Thanks to our host for the use of the party room and all the fortification!
