We survived Mystic Hills Campground - the x-country and the evening festivities, both!
The Emerson’s captained an epic ski up the gut of Custer Peak on Saturday afternoon that had us all in stiches - almost literally. Nine folks and three dogs experienced a range of conditions from fast hardpack to thigh deep wet corn when ascending the east ridge of the peak. After a lengthy well deserved break and fortification at the fire tower, we made our way down the mountain. The return was no less entertaining, but much faster!
That evening, our crowd doubled when joined by numerous others. We retreated to the lodge for prime rib dinners, wii games, and other festivities. Thanks to the Rimrock crowd, we later had a roaring fire in the pit outside our cabins. Late that evening Lady Gail fried us some venison tenders in our "handicapped" cabin.
After breakfast, a small group shoed and skiied to clear the cobwebs before heading home for well earned naps.
Thanks to our hosts at Mystic Hills Campground for the hospitality and clean and cozy cabins. It was a fun time and the we enjoyed the food and hospitality. Check out the digs at http://www.mystichillscampground.com/.
Thanks for the memories!
