The Club is enticed members to get out and ski. We were covering the $25 entry for up to 6 teams - and had thrown in our own prize purse of $150 that was awarded to the Club teams that perform the best!
With a chance to play like an Olympian, teams of three people, with at least one member of either sex on each team, any age participated in the Terry Peak Riders Cup. It was a rather chilly and foggy day with sleet, but that didn't stop a few brave souls from chasing the gold.
Terry Peak had us running a dual giant slalom course on Empress twice by each team member with the best times from each team member added to determine the winning team. The Club had three teams - Dressed to Impress, Rump Rangers, and 3-Way Pirates. The competition was fierce with Rump Rangers clocking the Club's fastest team time. They also scored Terry Peak's Best Dressed Award - narrowly beating out Dressed to Impress in an audience show of support.
Team times only seeded drawing for $100 of the purse. The Club allocated prizes of $50, $30, and $20 to the timed portion and the other $50 went to our Club's best dressed team - Rump Rangers. As fate had it, the purse drawings mirrored the teams' times:
1st - Rump Rangers
2nd - Dressed to Impress
3rd - 3-Way Pirates
All in all, a great day and fun way to give away some booty. Hope to see you there next time!
