Hanna Snow Camp
Saturday - January 30th
We had a good turnout of 9 campers and 6 dogs with a few evening guests that enjoyed the night at Hanna Campgound near Cheyenne Crossing. Conditions were sunny when the day started, clouded a bit for much of the evening, but the moon reappeared in the wee hours and we woke to another bluebird day! With a large area cleared around the fire, we enjoyed a smorgasbord of MRE's with vegetable manicotti, homemade Italian brats, Famous Dave's Dutch Oven wings, Rick's gumbo, and Joe's O's. While we did have a roaring fire, there was an inversion so the Hills were rather pleasant. We kayaked and sledded the bank behind the fire into the evening. The snow was quite soft and deep - as folks learned trying to double on the sled. More weight isn't always the best option...
After manning the fire until wee hours, we leisurely broke camp and made it to breakfast at Cheyenne Crossing sometime after 9 AM before heading home for naps after the late evening. Thanks to all that participated for a fun
outing!
