Cross-Country Outing
Sunday - January 24th - 11 AM
Conditions were surprisingly good on Sunday when Sean, our Nordic Director, took us on a cross-country trek in the Hills. While the Hills were blustery around us, the track was rather protected and, as guaranteed, less than 8 miles of mellow skiing.
11 folks and 5 dogs enjoyed the out and back route along scenic Rapid Creek near Silver City. Over one-half the folks used snowshoes. We doubled back just below the confluence of Slate and Rapid Creeks for our break. Shared treats included ND sausage, salmon spread, orange slices, grasshoppers, cherry schnapps, kahlua coffee, and cheese and crackers.
Apres trek was held at Sugar Shack where we were joined by a few other folks and enjoyed our justly-earned grub and fortification. Our thanks to Sean and all that participated for a fun outing!
